Dapplegrey 2.6
Dapplegrey is a frontend for the Mac OS X DOSBox port written in REALbasic. With Dapplegrey you can easily set options the DOSBox gives to you without having to enter them manually using the Terminal or have to edit the DOSBox config file. This file will be written before Dapplegrey tells DOSbox to start.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.6:
  • Dapplegrey now understand to use DOSBox versions included in Boxer or DBGL instead of the stand-alone DOSBox application only, like before. So, if you also installed Boxer besides Dapplegrey on your hard disk, you no longer need to store a separate DOSBox application in order to use it with Dapplegrey. Boxer packages (which are a very interesting work-around to play DOS games on your Mac) are still not supported (yet), thought. Remember, until now, those frontends includes DOSBox 0.72 currently, while Dapplegrey supports DOSBox 0.73 since version 2.3 (the current beta version of Boxer, 0.86, also supports DOSBox 0.73). When Dapplegrey's development has been started in 2006, while DOSBox 0.65 was current, there was no other DOSBox frontend available at that time, which could handle DOSBox 0.65 or newer (Petit DOSBox, Radnor and Dosboxer existed at that time, which included DOSBox versions 0.61 or 0.63 respectively, already outdated at that time). Finally, Dapplegrey has been released the first time in April 2007 four weeks after the release of DOSBox 0.70 has been released.
  • Selected from Games menu, Game Info Window should sheet from within Floating Games window now, if main window has been minimized (in fact, selecting it from Games menu, every second time it maximizes the main window and shows up within it).
  • Speaking of Floating Games window, its Popup menus has been deactivated, because they are no longer working. Instead of, a 'View' menu (to switch between your Games list and the Dapplegrey internal Toolbox entries) has been added.
  • Also a 'Genre' menu has been added to the menu line of Dapplegrey DOSBox frontend. Selecting an entry from the 'Genre' menu will re-new the games list of both the main window and the Floating games window, if it is open. The advantage of such a menu is, only genre types are selectable which are marked in the games list. Remember, genre can be choosen if Game Info window has been opened.
  • If you're using the FreeDOS KEYB.EXE application (which is included in the Dapplegrey Toolbox) by manually adding it to the AUTOEXEC lines, like mentioned before, please remove it from there and go to the Dapplegrey Preferences dialog/"Default keyboard layout" Tab Panel and choose FreeDOS KEYB.EXE from there. Please do so because Dapplegrey plans to move the drive letter of its internal Toolbox from formerly Y: to T:, which is choosable for now. So if you added KEYB.EXE to AUTOEXEC lines before, switching to drive letter Y: may no longer work if internal toolbox is set to drive letter T:.
