CGI - For data exchange and to connect external runtime environments and applications, the specification 1.1 of the Common Gateway Interface PHP, Perl, Python and others are supported. Optional FastCGI is also available.
Customizing - Error pages and list view of the directories (Directory Index) can be for all physical and virtual hosts using templates to define individually or jointly use.
DCGI - DCGI has been especially developed for Devwex. DCGI is derived from CGI 1.1 and supplies the Webserver with an open interface to different programming languages such as Java, VB, VB(A) and more.
Directory Index - Directories from the file system are shown as navigable HTML documents. The use of templates that can be individually designed for all physical and virtual hosts.
Filtering - Accesses to servers and virtual hosts can be controlled by individually defined rules. Custom error pages and redirects are supported.
HTTP - Based on specifications for HTTP 1.0 Devwex supports GET, POST, HEAD, PUT, and DELETE. Further methods can be provided by additional modules and by DCGI or CGI. A response supports server status 200, 201, 300, 302, 304, 400, 401, 403, 404, 405, 406, 408, 411, 413, 424, 500, 501 and 503. This can be modified or expanded by provided interfaces.
IP/Port Sharing - With Virtual Hosting hosts are under several IP addresses and ports available.
Modules - Functionalities of the server can be changed, enlarged and added also newly by modular architecture.
Multithreading - The configuration supports the definition of multiple independent physical and virtual hosts supported with inheritance. Each instance will be executed independently in their own threads.
Remote Control - Functions for status query, restart and stop are available via the configurable Telnet remote access.
SSL - For secure data transfers Devwex supports Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS). The certificate assignment can be handled for every physical host, in groups by inheritance or globally.
Virtual Hosting - For virtualization are IP, port and name-based (Virtual Domain) Hosting supported.
- The directory index was revised and expanded by the function from the module symbols. The module is now an integral part of Devwex.
- In this context, the list has been increased to the MIME type, the syntax for the template generator shortened, optimized to generate the unique ID and the signature of DCGI shortened.
