MobileSyncBrowser 3.1b2

MobileSyncBrowser (MSB) allows you view the backup files iTunes creates from your iPhone. Everytime you synch your phone, iTunes keeps a local copy of the information contained in your iPhone's SMS and Notes applications as well as your recent call history. MSB allows you to refer to these files and copy the information for backup or reference purposes.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 3.1b2:
- Leverages the modularity to add background processing and caching to provide a feel of 'instant-on' response instead of the 'forced-wait' imposed by the extended scanning required for the PLUS features introduced in MSB2. While more of a perceptual performance enhancement; this is particularly useful to PowerPC builds, whose scan times lag behind any Intel builds, due to compiler issues.
- Introduces a cache file to the device backups to speed subsequent visits to an unchanged backup: '
.msbdata' - Improved handling of similar and alphanumeric addresses in the SMS Convo Lists.
- Improved navigation on systems with 9+ backups. This condition would cause portions of the Categories list to scroll up out of view, making it seem that certain categories were 'unavailable'.
- Navigation has been modified:
- Double-Click list item (default action)
- Single-Click Any Chevron (default action)
- Alt-Click Blue Chevron (alternate action)
The blue chevron is used to indicate and invoke an alternate action, distinct from double-clicking the row item itself. Since this is not evident without a little experimentation, the alternate actions now require the user to press the ALT/OPTION key. Otherwise the program will just perform the default action with a single-click (Single-click navigation had also been requested on several occasions). - MSB does encounter problems from time to time, as it has to deal with unknown quantities such as bad/incomplete backups, undocumented format changes imposed by iTunes, mysterious backup files created by the multiplicity of App Store software. As in later versions of 2.0, MSB tries to provide as much info as it can in the form of a Log.
