myWritings 0.9 - Lightweight word processor. (Free)
myWritings beta - The word processor for the rest of us.
Please keep in mind, beta means - well, beta! Some features are yet not working and even if it is stable - some errors and bugs may occur.
On of the first apps I ever wrote was Schreiben. And it is still one of my best selling apps. But I am not happy with it for month or even years now.
It started as a very simple word processor with one window and three buttons with only one goal - to keep it as simple as possible and it always should start with a centered window. At that time, no other word processor had a centered window. Word still opens without a centered window, Pages has been dreams of the future, as well as Bean.
But with Pages and Bean as competitors I ran into the typical trap every developer knows; but Pages does, but Bean does, but it needs this and it needs that and years later the code and the app itself is a mess. Java seems uncluttered compared to it.
Ive tried my best - and it has been a hard decision - but finally the best solution was to write a completely new application from scratch. With one goal. To keep it as simple and uncluttered as possible. Again.
So here you are: the first public beta of the all new myWritings.
