business
NoteTaker 2.5.0
NoteTaker is for organizing your information lifestyle, your digital workstyle.

At its most basic level, NoteTaker is a personal note and idea organizer. With NoteTaker, you can make a list, organize an outline or jot down an idea. It\'s that basic. But with everyday work and lifestyle demands, our information needs are far more complex and diverse. And NoteTaker reflects this reality so that users can add and change the content and use of their information as needed.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.5.0:

Enhancements

  • Multiple Tags. Categories are now called \"Tags\". Support for multiple tags has been added. Menu items in the Tags contextual menu now toggle the presence of tags in the tag list for an entry. The Tags index page lists entries under all tags assigned to each entry. Multiple tag support has also been added to NoteShare Express, version 2.4 or later.
  • Note that opening a notebook with multiple tags using an earlier version of NoteShare or NoteTaker may result in some tags being not shown or discarded.
  • Attachment caching. Attachments in remotely-opened notebooks are now locally cached. Downloaded attachments are now kept under: ~/Library/Caches/NoteTaker/Services/[/port]//
  • Web Notebook improvements. Web notebooks now feature improved compatibility with iPhone and iPad.
  • Print Formatting improvements. The Page Setup scaling factor now causes content to be scaled while preserving the printed page size. The title area also prints more compactly.
  • Gestures. 3-finger swipe gestures can now be used to turn pages on multi-touch trackpads.
Fixes
  • Fixed problems with the general preference \"reopen previously open notebooks.\" Shared/open notebooks were not reopened.
  • The Sharing>RSS menu item now shows the correct state of the current page for remotely-opened notebooks.
  • Fixed issue causing a web notebook cover page to not be updated if the cover page had not yet been lazily created.
  • Fixed issue preventing a click on link to a stubbed attachment in a remotely-opened notebook from causing the attachment to be downloaded.
  • Fixed issue causing crash when pasting entries onto a remote notebook page with a new blank entry that is actively being edited.
  • A few fixes to applet data handling between NoteShare Express and NoteTaker.
  • Change to Page Mark creation and parsing for increased compatibility with NoteShare Express
  • Fixed an issue affecting cmd-c copying and cmd-v pasting of attachments from the Finder in Snow Leopard.
  • Single-page PDFs smaller than 640x640 are once again converted to PNG bitmaps in Web Notebook exports instead of displayed with the PDF plugin.
  • PDF data on the pasteboard is now preferred over TIFF data when both are present, during paste operations.
  • Added support for superscripted and subscripted text in Web Notebooks
  • Fixed issue with \"Scale Image\" Preview option not working.
  • Fixed issue causing the first character of a new entry to retain strikethrough appearance of the previously edited entry.
  • Fixed missing \"unlocked space\" icon in NoteTaker\'s Open Shared Notebook panel.
  • The Sharing Monitor no longer truncates notebook page numbers to 2 digits.
  • The \"Go -> First Entry\" command now scrolls to the top of the page if the first entry extends beyond one page length.
  • Fixed issues in Open Shared Notebook panel that could lead to a memory crash.
  • Two finger scrolling is now available in drawer panes for users of multitouch trackpads.
  • Shortcut Preferences tab no longer displays spurious command-key icon when none was typed.
  • Fixed issue causing pasted text with links to lose the link behavior, when pasted into an existing entry.
Known Issues
  • Web Notebooks currently do not require any passwords to be supplied. If you need secure web-based access to shared notebooks, consider using NoteShare Express, which uses the same secure password protection and encryption used by NoteShare and NoteTaker. Password protection can also be manually added to web server folders. Please refer to the documentation of your web server software for further information.
  • There is as yet no way for a remote viewer of a shared notebook to create a template that can be shared to other viewers. The notebook\'s owner must create any templates to be shared, on the owner\'s computer.
  • The Adobe browser plug-in cannot be used to display PDF attachments in NoteTaker. If the Adobe browser plug-in is enabled in the Adobe Reader or Acrobat preferences, then the PDF plug-in feature in NoteTaker is disabled.
